fourteen collects nothing. No account, no analytics, no tracking, and no server of ours for anything to be sent to.

fourteen is made and published by Saturn Tech LLC, which is also the seller on the App Store.
What the app keeps, and where
Everything the app makes stays on your iPhone: your records and their tracks, the takes it captures, the tape and patches pulled from the OP-1, and your settings. They live in the app's own storage, and in your iPhone's iCloud backup if you have that turned on, which is a backup of your device made by you, not a copy sent to us.
Deleting the app deletes all of it.
The microphone
iOS routes the OP-1's USB audio through the microphone permission, so the app has to ask for it. It is used to hear the instrument over the cable and, when you pick MIC as the input, the iPhone's own microphone. Audio is written to a file on your device only while you are recording. It is never uploaded anywhere.
The local server
"Open on a computer" starts a small web server on your iPhone so a browser on the same WiFi can play and download your own takes, records and sounds. Worth knowing:
- It runs only while you leave it switched on, and stops with the app.
- It is reachable only from your local network. Nothing passes through the internet, and no traffic reaches us.
- It has no password. While it is on, anyone on the same WiFi who has the address can open those files, so switch it off on networks you do not trust.
MIDI and USB
The app talks to the OP-1 over the cable. That traffic never leaves the cable.
What the app does not do
- No accounts and no sign-in.
- No analytics, no telemetry, no crash reporter of ours.
- No advertising, no advertising identifier, no App Tracking Transparency prompt, because there is nothing to track.
- No third party SDKs. The app is built on Apple's own frameworks and our own code.
- No network requests to any server of ours. There is no server of ours.
Apple
The App Store sells and delivers the app, so Apple processes your purchase under their privacy policy, not this one. Apple gives us aggregate, anonymous figures about downloads and, if you chose to share diagnostics with developers, crash reports that do not identify you. We never receive your name, your email address or your payment details.
This website
fourteen.systems sets no cookies, runs no analytics and loads nothing from a third party: the two typefaces are served from this domain, not from Google. Whoever hosts the site keeps the ordinary access log any web server keeps, such as your IP address and which page you asked for, for security and to keep the thing running. Those logs are not used to profile anyone and are not combined with anything else.
Children
The app is rated 4+ and collects no data from anyone, at any age.
Your rights
Saturn Tech LLC sells fourteen in Europe, so the GDPR applies to us wherever we are registered. Under it you have the right to access, correct, erase, restrict, object to and port your personal data. Here that is unusually simple: we hold none of it, so there is nothing to hand over or delete on our side, and everything the app made is erased when you delete the app. If you write to us anyway, we will answer within a month.
You also have the right to complain to a data protection authority. It is the authority where you live, not where we are: in the EU that is your own national one, and in Spain the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it, and anything that actually affects you will be said here in plain words rather than buried.
